I moved to Buffalo to get a degree in Communications, and then continue onto Graduate school. I realized that I needed to go far away from New York City if I wanted to get all of this accomplished, so I made the big move. I enjoyed my life way too much living in the city that I needed to take a break. It was the only way to get some serious work done if I wanted to be happy with my future career in Public Relations.
Some of my interests are the fashion industry, the Yankees, the food network, and music. I also have an obsession with quotes. This summer I worked for a high-end fashion company as the designer’s assistant, and in the PR department. The experience was a crazy and always full of surprises. Here’s a link to the designer’s web page. http://eugeniakim.com/
Then there are the Yankees. I’ve loved them all my life, and it’s not because of Derek Jeter. Don’t get me wrong he’s nice to look at along with Alex Rodriguez, but it’s the game of baseball itself that I love. I’ve been a fan since I was really young because my grandfather raised me to watch them.
Last but not least, I love food. I love to cook, eat, and drink wine. I don’t have a favorite type of food because I always crave something different. If I have the resources in the future, I would love to open up my own restaurant and lounge. Living in NYC and being best friends with a complete “foodie” has made me passionate about the hospitality business.
I’m not going to lie; I took this class because it was a requirement. I have no complaints about it. I don’t mind writing, and I do want to improve a lot in it so hopefully COM 125 will help.
Here are a few more things.
One of my favorite quotes:
"A couple of hundred years ago, Benjamin Franklin shared with the world the secret of his success. Never leave that till tomorrow, he said, which you can do today. This is the man who discovered electricity. You think more people would listen to what he had to say. I don't know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I'd have to say it has a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, sometimes the fear is just of making a decision, because what if you're wrong? What if you're making a mistake you can't undo? The early bird catches the worm. A stitch in time saves nine. He who hesitates is lost. We can't pretend we hadn't been told. We've all heard the proverbs, heard the philosophers, heard our grandparents warning us about wasted time, heard the damn poets urging us to seize the day. Still sometimes we have to see for ourselves. We have to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today's possibility under tomorrow's rug until we can't anymore. Until we finally understand for ourselves what Benjamin Franklin really meant. That knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and even the biggest failure, even the worst, beat the hell out of never trying."-Grey's Anatomy

YUP! I went to 2 games this summer and will be going to the game in Toronto this upcoming Thursday (9/13) with UB friends. I can't believe you've been to 6 this year. So lucky, lol. I would've gone to more too, but I had summer sessions and had to stay in Buffalo for half the summer. ><
